At the end of this course, the student is able to independently search for, study and perform new repertoire. He/she can interpret the part of the solo and ensemble repertoire with a personal vision.

The student has obtained a credit certificate for the bachelor's thesis of the main instrument.

The student studies a program that he puts together in consultation with his teacher and that is in function of his interests and current instrumental development.

Scores depending on the instrument involved.

With regard to saxophone, the examination program must consist of a maximum of 50% transcripts and thus at least 50% of original works.

During the weekly contact hours, the student is coached by the teacher. The student studies daily and integrates the feedback given in the preparation for these contact moments and for the exam that is organized in concert form. The student may take passive/active part in masterclasses and in afternoon and/or evening concerts.

The student receives an exam mark (100 %) on the practical exam, assessed by a jury. In this practical exam, the student presents fifteen minutes of music from the composed repertoire (for singing, min. 10 minutes), including at least 1 work or part of a work from memory. With regard to saxophone, the examination program must consist of a maximum of 50% transcripts and thus at least 50% of original works.

An evaluation grade is awarded (without a decimal point) based on a standard such as quality assessment (14 is Distinction, 16 is Major Distinction, 18 is Greatest Distinction, 12 is Pass, 10 is Pass with Negatives, 9 is Fail with probability of success in September, 8 failed with probability of success in a resumed year, 7 and less failed with advice to stop the studies).
