Aims
At the end of this course, the student is able to perform approximately one (other) third of the minimum repertoire (cf. Toledo) in a stylistically and musically responsible manner. The individual development of the student is central and enables him to participate in ensembles, from chamber music to symphonic orchestra (depending on the instrument involved).
This OPO mainly focuses on the following OLR Music (bachelor): 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.2 and 4.1.
Previous knowledge
The student has an open attitude: he can deal with new impulses, comments and feedback. The student can study independently and adequately. The student has passed this course at level Ba1 (first stage bachelor music, major instrument/singing), or can demonstrate through a test that he has the necessary competences.

Content
In consultation with the teacher, part of the imposed minimum repertoire is determined, possibly supplemented with specific technical exercises and additional literature. The minimum repertoire is described per instrument and can be consulted via Toledo.
Course material
Instrumental studies and scores, depending on the repertoire of the instrument involved.
With regard to saxophone, the examination program must consist of a maximum of 50% transcripts and thus at least 50% of original works.
Format: more information
During the weekly contact hours, the student is coached by the teacher. The student studies daily and integrates the feedback given in preparation for these contact moments and for the exam, which is organized in concert form. The student may take part passively/actively in masterclasses and concerts.

The student receives an exam grade based on the practical exam assessed by a jury. On this practical exam, the student presents ten minutes of music from the minimum repertoire, including at least 1 work or part of a work from memory. (With regard to saxophone, the examination program must consist of a maximum of 50% transcripts and thus at least 50% original works.)
An evaluation mark is awarded (without a decimal point) that is based on a standard such as quality assessment (14 is award, 16 is great distinction, 18 is greatest distinction, 12 passed, 10 passed with minus points, 9 failed with probability of success in September, 8 failed with probability of success in a retaken year, 7 and less failed with advice to stop the studies).
