The student can create animations in various spatial animation film techniques.

Content
The students complete an "individual group work".
Each individual work should be linked to another individual work to form one coherent group work.
Various exercises in different stop motion techniques.
The student creates animations in various spatial animation film techniques.
In depth in spatial animation.
After theoretical presentation, practical exercises in various small groups.
Concept, pre-production and production of several spatial animation films.
All assignments must be posted on the personal blog.
Course material
Cameras and stop motion software are basic tools for this profession.
Computers.
Stop motion studio animation film and on location if necessary.
Language of instruction: more information
The main language of the contacts is Dutch. For exchange students the language is English.
Documentation, guest speakers or study visits can occasionally be given in English (or French, German,...).
Format: more information
The assignment is formulated in form and content by means of questions and solutions.
The student anticipates and determines his personal approach based on a critical approach in function of the group work.
Artistic studio: 1: Commission for elaboration of concept and division of work spaces and planning: analogous in group. Trigger day= brainstorms, planning and dialogue..
2: Practical lessons/studios/… Physically at school.
3: Finishing and/or presentation moments. Posting on the blog and on the animation film server.

Series of exercises will be evaluated and concluded at predetermined evaluation periods.
Assessment of the content, technical and artistic aspects of the assignments.
Timing, rhythm, movements, composition of the stop motion.
Permanent assessment during practice, and final assessment during evaluation.
Creativity in the various exercises, post-production techniques.
There is also an evaluation on attitude, talent & technique, cooperation (discussing assignments and an active presence during the series of lessons).
All assignments must be placed on the personal blog and on the animated film server.
The end result is determined via a composite figure:
• cooperation during contact moments/participation (degree)
• process evaluation.
• product evaluation based on the jury's judgment using the criteria in the evaluation document.
The grade for cooperation during contact moments and process evaluation will be retained for the second exam opportunity and cannot be retaken.
Information about retaking exams
Improve/complete the new assignment and/or the result of the first exam opportunity, after consultation with the teacher(s) involved.
There is no (process) guidance during the second examination period.
The workshops/studios cannot be used during the summer closure.
There is limited possibility to lend material.
The student actively participates in the learning activity, this participation counts for a maximum of 20% in the final calculation of the points for this course unit.
