LUCA POC GRADUATE (OC educatieve master Brussel)

A master student builds on skills gathered in the Audiovisual Arts Bachelor Program and focusses on his/her development as an artist, on his/her personal visual language, on the commitment to build remarkable films that not yet exist.

The current technological developments and communicative abilities probably open appropriate perspectives, but also require the gift to determine your own position in this complex and competitive world. Innovative thinking, a personal universe design, targeted research and the ability to find and surround yourself with the right people are now very important.

Content and whimsy are both hallmarks of the Sint-Lukas films and therefore, but a personal graphical style, of course, requires besides a degree of technique a specific approach.

That's why annual meetings are organised with external specialists and inspiring artists from the professional film world, in the studio or through participation in festivals. International projects give students the unique mind-openers and opportunities for cooperation that often remain after their studies. In such cooperation, contribution and the ability to work independently are hardly appreciated.

Group discussions and peer-to-peer presentations require an extrovert commitment from the student while providing a wider context and mirror for his own work. The animation studio, where the student works on his portfolio and prepares for the thesis, provides a practical as well as a theoretical framework that helps to achieve an intended depth in his work and the required self-reflection as an artist.

Program:
3-day seminar script development in a remote location in the woods, including workshops and lectures by Jan Snoekx, animator, and Geert Van Goethem, producer;
Participation in internally and externally furnished workshops (VAF, author associations, animation film studio's ...);
Group discussions and presentations in the animation studio;
Personal coaching of final projects by the studio team;
Visits to various animation festivals (Anima Brussels Short Film Festival Leuven, HAFF Utrecht, Annecy (Fr), Stuttgart (D)) is encouraged.
Participation in festivals are organized by the AV production agency.
